This past Memorial Day holiday gave me reason to pause. In addition to paying homage to those who sacrificed their livelihood and lives for our freedom, I also reflected upon how precious life is. Time is fleeting, and I cannot help but to feel that I do not have much time.
So, what am I feeling compelled to see, feel, do? There are a plethora of answers to that question! It all seems impossible to experience in my lifetime. I may have to divide and conquer, categorize and prioritize, edit and curate. While this may be the realistic thing to do, by contrast, I feel a tugging and I hear a whisper that is suggesting otherwise.
Other people have put into words quite eloquently what I often feel:
“Only one thing makes a dream impossible: the fear of failure.”
– Paulo Coelho, author
“The Wright brothers didn’t contemplate the staying on the ground of things. Alexander Graham Bell didn’t contemplate the noncommunication of things. Thomas Edison didn’t contemplate the darkness of things. In order to float an idea into your reality, you must be willing to do a somersault into the inconceivable and land on your feet, contemplating what you want instead of what you don’t have.”
– Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, author, speaker
“Impossible is just a small word that is thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they’ve been given to explore the power they have, to change it.
Impossible is not a fact. It is an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It is a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!”
– Muhammad Ali, boxer
“To think anything is impossible is to limit the creativity of the Universe. Time & time again throughout history everything that was once impossible has been proved to be possible. The potential for everything has always been, it has only been our minds and beliefs that have caught up with the infinite potential that is right before our very eyes. Anyone who says anything is impossible is dead wrong. You can create any kind of life you want. The magic happens with an open mind, humble attitude and persistent effort. Trust yourself and you’ll be amazed at what IS possible.”
– Jackson Kiddard, author
