I love a good quote. Words represent wisdom for me when they speak a truth that resonates with me and stirs my senses.
In reading The Essential Rumi, I came across this quote by Whitman in the author’s, Coleman Barks, introduction of the book.
“…re-examine all you have been told at church or school or in any book, dismiss what insults your soul.”
If we were to take this advice to task and live this way, would we as individuals be better? Would the world thus be a better place if all persons took this to heart and lived being led by the soul?
